My cruise control stopped working the other day when I was driving down the highway. I drive an 89 5. I was wondering if someone knew some of the things that could cause this.
I checked the fuses and there wasn't a problem there. I don't know much about the electrical stuff on the car and could use some help, Thanks.

StangVert00 New Member. Mar 2, 0 0 Stoneham, MA Visit site. Greetings, I own a '00 GT 'Vert. Auto I noticed the other day that the cruise control does not work. My first guess would be to replace the fuse. Since I cannot find my owners manual, could someone tell me the location of the fuse for the cruise control? I checked the fuse box in the engine compartment, but it does not list what fuse is for what device. Thanks, StangVert Show hidden low quality content.

While driving 70 mph with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to elkins Fordland beverly pike, elkins, wv, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 50, See all problems of the Ford Mustang. While driving with cruise control set at 55 mph, car began to decelerate, yellow "wrench" advisory light illuminated and engine appeared to be running rough.
Car slowed to a stop and I pulled the car off the roadway. I switched off the ignition and waited approximately 30 seconds.
I restarted the car. The advisory light stayed off and the engine ran normally thereafter. When the incident occurred, the car was on a highway curving turn to the right. The incident occurred coming out of the curve. The above vehicle is a Ford Mustang eco-boost convertible. It is equipped with adaptive cruise control. When a vehicle in front slows below a set speed or a vehicle cuts the car off the adaptive cruise control slows the car down, or stops it, to keep a predetermined distance.
According to Ford the slowing is done by the engine and not the brakes. Once the vehicle slows, and it is safe, it begins to accelerate back to the set cruise control speed. The slowing, not being done by the braking system, does not activate the brake lights. Only when the brake pedal is stepped on will the brake lights come on which also would disengage the cruise control. We have had a couple of incidents in which the vehicle behind does not see the car slowing, by brake lights, and closes at a rapid speed on the rear of the car.
Looking at a Dodge ram closing, not knowing it's going to stop, can be a bit unnerving. I have recently read that the automatic braking may be installed on future vehicles as a standard option.
I can't imagine that keeping a vehicle from crashing into a forward moving vehicle is any more or less important then being struck in the rear because brake lights don't come on. I am certainly more cautious driving the adaptive cruise control on because of this safety issue. I have talked to Ford "customer relations dept" who weren't sure how to follow this up but to sent it up the ladder. I have a Ford case cas The contact owns a Ford Mustang.

Interior Fuse Box Location: 2005-2009 Ford Mustang
I bought my 97 a year ago with the cruise control that was not working. I have been trying to fix it since I bought it but I cannot find the problem. Does the cruise control have a fuse that might be blow out or missing?
I have looked under the steering wheel and under the hood in the fuse box but I dont know which one could be the cruise control fuse. I have looked in the internet and havent found any information either. Could it be a fuse or the cruise control cable? Any ideas? I forgot to mention that there are some fuses missing in both of the fuse boxes but I have no idea what they are for Does anybody know of an internet site that could explain what all of the fuses are for?
